Weeds is Awesome.

I just kicked your ass Sergei Eisenstein.

Brrng! Brrng!
"Hey Sergei, what's up?"
"Not much... just being a dead Soviet montage filmmaker and theorist. What's up with you?"
"Oh, not much... just being a living film student. I just checked my grades."
"Yeah. A- in film theory. What do you say to that pal?"
"My... my hair is crazier than yours!"

Colorizing Black & White

Today I was browsing through the Photoshop contests at Worth 1000. The website is really neat if you ever have some spare time to check it out. One of the contests I liked was the recolorization of classic films and I decided to try and do one of my own. The contest is already over so I can't enter it, but it was fun to try anyway. I did a still from A Streetcar Named Desire.

It doesn't exactly look real, but I think it has a neat stylized quality to it. Not too bad for a first shot (if I do say so myself). My favorite parts are the clothes. I think they came out looking the best.

Ah, Paris...

Bonjour Everyone!

Je ne sais pas pourquoi, mais j'ai décidé d'être français aujourd'hui. (I don't know why, but I have decided to be French today.)

Quand j'ai écouté "La Vie en Rose" ce matin, je la pensée de Paris et je suis devenu nostalgique. Oui, c'est cliché, mais il y a quelque chose magique de Paris. (When I listened to "La Vie en Rose" this morning, I thought about Paris and I became nostalgic. Yes, it is cliche, but there is something magical about Paris.)

Alors, aujourd'hui je vais faire les choses français, comme manger le pain et le fromage, et admirer le couture de Christian Louboutin et Yves Saint Laurent. (So, today I am going to do French things, like eating bread and cheese, and admiring the couture of Christian Louboutin and Yves Saint Laurent.)

Vive la France!

Gamers are Crazy

If you have seen a group of people camping out at your local Wal-Mart or Best Buy this week, they are probably waiting for the Playstation 3. Sony's highly anticipated "next-gen" console arrives on store shelves this Friday. Although it is doubtful that they will remain on the shelves for long, as there are hordes of dedicated gamers already camping out for them. Some of them will indeed keep the console for their own enjoyment, but others will seize the opportunity to profit from an initial shortage (Sony only sent 400,000 for release in North America).

Here is a screenshot I took of a PS3 pre-order sold today on Ebay.

No, I didn't employ any photoshop trickery here. It really did sell for $10,100. Don't get too excited though, most have been selling for around $3,000 to $4,000. Still, that is a hefty price tag for an item that retails around $600.

Boredom = Photoshop

In the spirit of Conan O'Brien's celebrity morphs I have made my own morph of sorts, except I tried to make it look at least slightly believable. Here is one of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie:

I used Pitt's nose, ear, a bit of his forhead and his jawline, smaller eyes, and thinner lips.

Of course the base photo is Jolie so it looks a lot like her, but as you can see by the reference photos below, there is a noticeable difference.

See what happens when I get bored?
